Training Workshop on SCC Online Research Tools (24th July, 2025)
The Library Committee of Kamkus College of Law organized a one-day training workshop entitled “Training Workshop on SCC Online Research Tools” on 24th July, 2025 under the guidance of Dr. Ambuj Sharma, principal, KCL and coordinated by Dr. Tabassum Baig and Ms. Parul Sharma.
Dr. Ambuj Sharma addressed the students and motivated them to take maximum advantage of the subscribed e-resources. Mr. Ajay Pratap Singh , SCC Online Trainer explored the tools and techniques to access the e-resource databases of SCC Online. SCC Online is a legal research platform offering access to a vast library of judgments, case law from the Supreme Court, High Courts, and tribunals, as well as central and state statutes, rules, and regulations. It provides expert commentaries, articles, and analysis to simplify complex legal concepts. Key materials include case law, statutes, constitutional provisions, expert commentaries, law review articles, case digests, reports, international treaties, and updates on legal developments. SCC is the most cited and comprehensive law report by the Supreme Court of India. This Information Database and search program is a proven source for quick retrieval of case-laws.
The Library of Kamkus College of Law is equipped with SCC Online to provide judgments, case laws, bare acts, article sections. The workshop was conducted in offline mode by Mr. Ajay Pratap Singh, Academic Manager and Trainer. The workshop aimed at giving first- hand information to the BA.LL.B. (5 Year) and LL.B. (3 Year) and LL.M. Course students about accessing SCC Online.
Mr. Ajay Pratap Singh thoroughly explained the search features of SCC Online along with how to do effective legal research on SCC Online. Features like ‘Word Search’, ‘Finding by Citation, Party Name etc’, ‘Search Folders’ and keeping oneself up-to-date in the areas of Law education. The session was very enlightening as it gave an opportunity to explore the range of e-resources available in the library. All the queries raised were addressed by Mr. Ajay Pratap Singh.
Students and faculty members were explained the steps to find case law by section, browsing law reports and judgments, etc.

The SCC Online Training Workshop was a resounding success, providing KCL Law students as well as all faculty members with valuable skills and knowledge to enhance their legal research capabilities. The hands-on approach and interactive sessions ensured that students could effectively utilize SCC Online for their academic and professional needs. Students gave wonderful feedback; they learnt a lot from the Guest Speaker. The faculty members and students raised several queries with respect to accessing SCC Online which were addressed by Ajay Pratap Singh.
