Library membership is open for the students, staff, faculty and visiting faculty of the college
Members should produce their library membership card at the entrance of the library.
A duplicate library membership card will be issued on payment of Rs.100/- per card.
General Rules
All the users and outsiders entering the library shall keep their bags and other belongings at the entrance bag racks.
The library card is compulsory for getting access to the library. This should be presented at the time of entry in students visiting register.
Readers are advised not to leave their valuable items like money, passport, credit card etc. at the bag racks.
Take your bags with you when you exit to library.
Use of mobile phones in the library is strictly prohibited.
Silence should be maintained in the library
Library is not responsible for any loss of personal belongings
No photographs of the library shall be taken without proper authorization.
Users should not talk or discuss as they may disturb other readers
Users should not rest or keep their feet on tables, chairs, shelves, etc
Smoking/Eating /Talking /Chewing are strictly prohibited in the library.
Users should not deface, mark, cut, damage the reading material in any way.
Person doing so will be fined heavily, apart from being asked to pay the cost of the damage document.
In case a person repeats the offence for the second times, his/her Membership will be terminated.
The users are expected to maintain the decorum of the library
Casual dress is not allowed in the library
No dues certificate will be given only after surrendering of library cards.
Circulation Rules
Students can borrow 2 books at a time for 15 days.
Students must return the books to the library promptly when due. Failure to do so will overdue charges Rs. 5/- per day per book.
If the due date falls on a holiday the book should be returned on the next day.
Readers are responsible for books issued against their names.
Reference books, syllabus, question papers and periodicals should be borrowed against the identity card and should be used in library only. Students should inform the library staff if they wish to take photocopies of these materials.
Borrowers must satisfy about the physical condition of the books before borrowing otherwise they will be held responsible for any damage later or at the time of return.
The book will be reissued if it is not in demand. Period of extension of books will be allowed one time only.
Renewal is not automatic. For renewal, it is necessary that the book shall be presented at the counter.
The defaulters will not be issued books in future.
In the case of loss of book, the borrower will have to replace the book along with fine as admissible. If he/she does not replace the book, then he/she will have to pay current cost of the book with fine as admissible
All members should return the books borrowed from the library before they proceed on long leave.
Librarian can recall books and publications any time to meet any urgent requirement
