Workshop on ‘Manupatra Legal Research Database’ (08th August, 2025)

The Library Committee of Kamkus College of Law organized an orientation cum training workshop on “Manupatra Legal Research Database” aimed at enhancing the legal research skills of students and faculty members. The workshop was held on 08th August, 2025 in the Library Hall of KCL, and witnessed enthusiastic participation from law students, faculty, and legal researchers.

The session commenced with a warm welcome by Dr. Ambuj Sharma, Principal of Kamkus College of Law, who emphasized the importance of digital legal research tools in modern legal education and practice. The resource person for the workshop was Mr. J.B. Singh, a certified trainer from Manupatra Information Solutions Pvt. Ltd., who brought extensive experience in legal tech and research methodologies.

Throughout the workshop, participants were introduced to the core features of the Manupatra platform, including case law search, judgment analysis, Bare Acts navigation, and advanced tools like Case Map, Authority Check, and SLP Status tracking. The trainer demonstrated how artificial intelligence and machine learning are integrated into the platform to streamline legal research and improve accuracy.

Interactive demonstrations allowed students to explore real-time case searches, analyze landmark judgments, and understand the hierarchy of courts. The session also covered international legal resources available on Manupatra, including judgments from jurisdictions such as the UK, US, and Bangladesh, etc.

Q&A Session:

An interactive Q&A session allowed students to clarify their doubts and gain deeper insights into effective research strategies.

The workshop saw enthusiastic participation from more than 100 students of B.A.LL.B., B.Com.LL.B. and LL.B. programs, along with several faculty members. Their active engagement and questions contributed to the overall success of the workshop.

The event was efficiently coordinated by Dr. Tabassum Baig, Assistant Professor, and Ms. Parul Sharma, Library In-charge at Kamkus College of Law. Principal Sir graciously delivered the Vote of Thanks, expressing heartfelt appreciation to Mr. J.B. Singh on behalf of the faculty members and students.
