Independence Day in India is celebrated every year on 15th August to mark the country’s freedom from British colonial rule in 1947. Celebrating Independence Day in colleges holds great significance as it serves both educational and patriotic purposes. It is a day to honor the sacrifices of our freedom fighters, reflect on the values of democracy, and remind the younger generation of their duty toward the nation.
In celebration of the 79th Independence Day of India, KAMKUS College of Law organized a series of cultural and patriotic events under the banner of "Azadi Ka Mahotsav". These events were held from 11th August to 14th August 2025 with the aim of honoring India’s freedom and instilling patriotic values among students.
For students, such celebrations are a powerful way to:
- Understand the historical struggles that led to India’s freedom.
- Develop a sense of national pride and unity.
- Express patriotism through creative and cultural activities like skits, speeches, songs, and debates.
- Encourage active participation in civic life and awareness of national responsibilities.
- Build leadership and teamwork through event organization and participation.
As part of the celebration, a Skit & Play Competition was held on 12th August 2025. Students participated enthusiastically in teams, showcasing their creativity and talent through powerful performances. The central theme of the competition was "Freedom", and each team presented a unique act highlighting various aspects of India’s struggle for independence, the value of liberty, and the responsibilities of citizens in a free nation.
The skits not only entertained the audience but also conveyed strong messages of patriotism, sacrifice, and unity. The performances were deeply appreciated by faculty members, judges, and fellow students. The students’ performances were thought-provoking and emotionally engaging. Through their skits, they brought to life the spirit of patriotism and paid tribute to the unsung heroes of India's independence movement. The event was judged by faculty members, and all participants were appreciated for their dedication and creativity.
All the students participated in the program with great enthusiasm and dedication. Each performance was so impressive that it became difficult to decide whose act was the best.
However, as per the rules of the competition, a winner had to be chosen. The judges evaluated each performance based on the quality of content, expression, creativity, and overall impact. Their judgment was based not on popularity, but on the genuine merit of each act, ensuring that every participant was assessed fairly and according to well-defined criteria.
