Report on Participation in the National Conference on Environment-2025 Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi (29th & 30th, 2025)

On the 29th and 30th of March, 2025, the students of Kamkus College of Law, accompanied by the principal, Dr. Ambuj Sharma, had the privilege of attending a two-day national conference hosted by the National Green Tribunal (NGT) at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. The conference revolved around the critical theme of environmental conservation and sustainability, aiming to address global environmental challenges and explore actionable solutions.

The event was graced by the esteemed Chief Guest, Smt. Draupadi Murmu, Hon’ble President of India. Her presence underscored the importance of collective efforts in safeguarding our environment. Other distinguished guests included Shri Bhupender Yadav, Minister of Environment and Climate Change; Hon’ble Shri Justice Vikram Nath, Judge, Supreme Court of India; Shri R. Venkataramani, Attorney General of India; and Hon’ble Shri Justice Prakash Shrivastava, Chairman, National Green Tribunal. The august gathering was followed by high tea, providing an opportunity for meaningful interactions.

The conference featured four technical sessions addressing core environmental issues:

  • Air Quality Monitoring & Management: Chaired by Hon’ble Justice Joymalya Bagchi, Judge, Supreme Court of India.
  • Water Quality Management & River Rejuvenation: Chaired by Hon’ble Justice Pratibha M. Singh, Judge, Delhi High Court.
  • Forest and Biodiversity Conservation: Chaired by Hon’ble Justice Anand Pathak, Judge, Madhya Pradesh High Court.
  • Reflections and Key Takeaways: Chaired by Hon’ble Justice P. S. Narsimha, Judge, Supreme Court of India.

The Valedictory Session was addressed by the Vice President of India, Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar, and attended by Justice P. S. Narsimha, Judge, Supreme Court of India, and Mr. Tushar Mehta, Solicitor General of India. During the National Conference, the NGT released its souvenir book, “Voice of Nature,” and its e-Journal, NGTeJ-2024, featuring NGT judgments.
