KAMLA SUKUL MEMORIAL NATIONAL MOOT COURT COMPETITION 2025 (7th to 8th November, 2025)
Introduction
The inaugural “Kamla Sukul Memorial (KSM) National Moot Court Competition 2025” was hosted with great distinction on 7th–8th November 2025 at Kamkus College of Law, Ghaziabad, in physical mode. Conceived as a tribute to the enduring legacy of Smt. Kamla Sukul, the competition brought together some of the finest young legal minds from across India. Eligibility was extended to students enrolled in full-time bachelor’s law programs at recognized Indian universities, ensuring a truly national participation. The competition advanced through Preliminary, Quarter-final, Semi-final, and Grand Final rounds, centered on the theme “Cyber Harassment, Virtual Conduct, and Criminal Accountability,” the event showcased sharp advocacy, intellectual brilliance, and reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to excellence in legal education and constitutional values. The competition was further enriched by the support of SCC Online and Eastern Book Company, who joined as our esteemed knowledge partners.
7th November 2025 – Inaugural Day
The event was inaugurated by Kamkus College of Law, marking a historic milestone in its journey towards academic excellence in legal education. The event commenced on 7th November 2025 with team registration and breakfast arrangements for all participants and dignitaries. The ceremonial lamp lighting was followed by an orientation session for participants and judges.
The Opening Ceremony was held with great solemnity and was presided over by the following distinguished dignitaries:
- Mr. Karunakar Sukul, Director and Chief Mentor, Kamkus College of Law, Ghaziabad.
- Mr. Amitabh Shukla, Director, Bhagirath Sewa Sansthan, Ghaziabad.
- Dr. Ambuj Sharma, Principal Kamkus Law College, Ghaziabad.
The Following the inauguration, the day’s schedule included:
- Orientation Session for participants and judges.
- SCC Online Training Session.
- Draw of Lots for the Preliminary Round.
- Exchange of Memorials among the competing teams.
- Researcher’s Test, conducted to evaluate analytical and research skills.
A. Preliminary Rounds
The Preliminary Rounds witnessed 18 teams contesting in two sessions, presenting their arguments before distinguished judges across multiple courtrooms. Participants were meticulously evaluated on legal reasoning, articulation, and responsiveness to judicial quaries. Based on the scores awarded by the esteemed panel, the top eight teams advanced to the Quarter-final Round, setting the stage for intense knock-out battles ahead.

B. Quarter-Final Round:
The Quarter-final Rounds commenced in the afternoon, following a lunch graciously arranged by the college management for all participants, judges, faculty members, and student volunteers.
The atmosphere was vibrant, as the knock-out format heightened the intensity of the competition and tested the teams’ advocacy skills to the fullest.

Both the Preliminary and Quarter-final Rounds were judged by an eminent panel comprising senior advocates, academicians, and legal experts, who meticulously evaluated the participants on their legal reasoning, articulation, and ability to respond to questions from the bench.
Following the announcement of results, mementos were presented to the judges of both rounds as a token of gratitude. Thereafter, a High Tea was graciously arranged by the college, marking the formal conclusion of the proceedings on 7th November.
8th November 2025 [Saturday]
A. Semi-Final Rounds:
Four teams emerged victorious in the Quarter-finals, and advanced to the Semi-finals. The qualifying teams for this round were:

The competition culminated in the Grand Final Round, held in the Moot Court Room. The contest was between:

Both finalist teams enthralled the audience and the distinguished panel of judges with their compelling arguments and articulate advocacy, marking a fitting and memorable conclusion to the inaugural ‘Kamla Sukul Memorial National Moot Court Competition 2025.’

4. Valedictory Ceremony:
Following the conclusion of the Final Round, the Valedictory Session was held in the Library Hall of Kamkus College of Law, which had been elegantly decorated for the occasion. The grandeur of the setting was further enhanced by the presence of the prestigious “Kamkus Vidhi Ratan” trophy, awaiting presentation to the winning team.
The Ceremony was graced by the presence of eminent dignitaries.

The atmosphere was charged with anticipation as the audience eagerly awaited the announcement of the Champion Team, along with the recipients of the Best Memorial, Best Researcher, and Best Speaker awards.
The “Kamkus Vidhi Ratan” trophy had been specially crafted in two identical forms — one to be awarded to the Champion Team and the other to remain permanently in the college as a commemorative replica. It was decided that the winning team would hold the trophy at their institution for one year, after which it would be passed on to the next year’s champions. In addition, the holding team would be granted waiver of registration fees for the subsequent National/International Moot Court Competition hosted by the college. The replica trophy, however, would always remain in the institution as a lasting symbol of excellence.
On this occasion, an extraordinary announcement was made by the College Mentor, Mr. Karunakar Sukul, who magnanimously enhanced the prize money as follows:
- Winner Team: increased from ₹5,000 to ₹11,000
- Runner-up Team: increased from ₹3,000 to ₹5,000
- Best Speaker, Best Researcher, Best Memorial: each increased from ₹1,000 to ₹2,000
This generous decision added immense joy to the ceremony and underscored the institution’s commitment to encouraging and rewarding merit.
Awards and Felicitations:
Subsequently, the announcement of the Final Round results was made with great enthusiasm, as all awaited it eagerly. The First Prize was awarded to Team KSM-7 from Christ University (Deemed to be University), Delhi NCR, while the Runner-up position was secured by Team KSM-3 from Faculty of Law, Banasthali Vidyapith, Rajasthan. “

Thus, the two-day National Moot Court Competition concluded successfully with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. Neetu Mankotia, Vice-Principal of the college, followed by the gracious declaration of High Tea for all participants.
