Report on Kakori Train Action Day 08-Aug-2025
To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the historic Kakori Train Action, Kamkus College of Law organized a special celebration on August 08, 2025, under the guidance of the Department of History and College cultural committee. The event aimed to honor the brave revolutionaries —Ram Prasad Bismil, Ashfaqullah Khan, Rajendra Lahiri, and Roshan Singh —who laid down their lives for India’s freedom during the Kakori Conspiracy of 1925.
The program began with flag hoisting and a floral tribute to the martyrs, followed by the screening of a documentary film that vividly portrayed the events of the Kakori train robbery. A special lecture was delivered by Dr. Ambuj Sharma, a noted educationist, who emphasized the courage and patriotism of the young revolutionaries and encouraged students to draw inspiration from their sacrifices.
Students from various courses participated enthusiastically in activities such as patriotic songs, poetry recitations, poster-making, and an essay competition.
Students expressed deep admiration for the freedom fighters and the day's events. "I had read about the Kakori conspiracy in textbooks, but seeing it come alive through the street play gave me chills," said Sharad Goswami, a first-year law
student. "It’s inspiring to see how young these revolutionaries were, yet so fearless," added Anunayay Sharma,
The Kakori Action Day celebration was both educational and emotionally stirring. It strengthened the students’ connection to the freedom movement and reminded them of the importance of courage, unity, and standing up against injustice—values that remain relevant even today.
Impact of the Event:
The Kakori Action Day celebration had a profound impact on the students and faculty of the college. It served not only as a remembrance of a historic revolutionary act but also as a powerful tool for instilling patriotic values, historical awareness, and social responsibility among the youth. Students were able to connect emotionally with the sacrifices of the freedom fighters, many of whom were close to their own age, and reflect on the courage it takes to fight for justice and change.
Through interactive activities such as dramatizations, competitions, and group discussions, the event encouraged students to actively engage with history beyond textbooks. It sparked curiosity about India’s revolutionary movements, prompted critical thinking about freedom and nationhood, and fostered a sense of unity and collective pride.
