WOMEN GRIEVANCE REDRESSAL COMMITTEE

The Women's Grievance Redressal Cell, established under the provisions of Act No. 20 of 1990 by the Government of India under the leadership of Principal Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Tyagi, serves as a champion for gender equality and justice within the College community. The Cell is dedicated to addressing concerns raised by female students, faculty, and staff. It provides a safe and supportive space for them to voice their grievances and offers a platform for impartial investigation and resolution.

The Cell extends its focus beyond grievance redressal by promoting a healthy and secure environment for all. This includes initiatives to instill good hygiene practices within the College community. Additionally, the Cell empowers women by equipping them with knowledge of their legal rights and grievance resolution mechanisms. To facilitate a swift and just response to concerns, the Cell convenes regular meetings. It also functions as a counseling center, addressing both verbal and written complaints. Furthermore, the Cell proactively organizes seminars and lectures featuring specialists and distinguished figures to raise awareness on critical issues like violence against women, sexual harassment in the workplace, and personal health and hygiene.

Objectives of this Cell:
  • Address issues of sexual harassment affecting female students and staff.
  • Empower women by equipping them with knowledge of their legal rights and grievance redressal mechanisms.
  • Safeguard the rights and well-being of female members of the College community.
  • Provide a safe and supportive platform for women to voice their concerns and seek redressal.
  • Promote a healthy and hygienic environment within the College for all.
  • Foster the holistic development of students, encompassing both academic and personal growth.

Complaint and Redressal:-

The College fosters a culture of open communication by encouraging students to freely express their concerns and suggestions, without fear of reprisal.
  • To facilitate this, anonymous suggestion boxes are strategically placed throughout the College.
  • Upon receiving a grievance, Committee members carefully review it with the Chair, seeking an appropriate resolution.
  • If a solution cannot be reached at the Committee level, the matter is escalated to the Principal and legal counsel for further action.
  • In certain cases, the complainant may be invited to participate in the grievance resolution process.
  • Following a thorough hearing, the Committee will determine and implement a suitable solution.
