Sports Committee

A Healthy body is a Healthy Mind”

The Sports Committee embodies the philosophy of "A Healthy Body is a Healthy Mind." Their vision is to cultivate a vibrant sporting culture within the College, fostering physical fitness and igniting a passion for athletics among participants. The Committee is firmly committed to enhancing student engagement in extracurricular sports and increasing the overall level of commitment from the student body.

Functions -:

  • Cultivate a spirit of enthusiasm for sports among both students and faculty.
  • Offer comprehensive training, coaching, and sports education programs accessible to all, fostering physical fitness and lifelong enjoyment of physical activity.
  • Spark a deep interest in athletics among participants, igniting a passion for various sports.
  • Organize a diverse range of competitions in sports like football, cricket, basketball, volleyball, carrom, badminton, and more.
  • Promote holistic well-being for all students, encompassing physical health, skill development, and overall well-being.
  • Inculcate valuable life skills such as sportsmanship, teamwork, and camaraderie through participation in sports.
  • Cater to the diverse interests of the student body by offering opportunities for competitive sports and recreational activities, both indoors and outdoors.

Responsibility -:

  • Promote active participation in sports by fostering enthusiasm among students and faculty.
  • Cultivate a culture of healthy competition that fosters teamwork and sportsmanship.
  • Organize regular sporting events to identify and train promising athletes for regional and national competitions.
  • Secure access to high-quality coaching and improved training facilities.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and upkeep of all sports equipment.
  • Develop and maintain necessary sports infrastructure to support a thriving sports program.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of all sports activities for future reference.

Tenure:

The Cultural Committee will be constituted for a two-year term. To ensure effective operation, a minimum of two-thirds of members will constitute a quorum for meetings, which will be convened as needed to plan and execute upcoming events.

Procedure of the Meeting

Similar to the Sports Committee, the Cultural Committee will convene meetings as necessary to plan upcoming events. Members will receive timely notification prior to each meeting to ensure their attendance. Following each meeting, the Committee will take concrete steps to implement the agenda items discussed.
